I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how I miss blogging, and how I’d really like to blog about some things – mostly sewing, and some knitting, and maybe some mom stuff too.   Someone on Twitter asked why I’d stopped, and I realized that, in my head, I’m still a blogger…I’ve just been on a super long extended break. ha. I couldn’t bring myself to take down this site, because I like going through the archives every now and then, and hey, what if I decided to post again?

So, what’s new?

C is two, and kind of a big boy now:

I just got a new sewing machine, a Pfaff Ambition 1.0 (purchased with some of my prize winnings from being on Wheel of Fortune) and I love it. I’ve been working on some quilt blocks and making lots of clothes, including two Darling Ranges dresses:

Darling Ranges Dress.

Darling Ranges dress #2.

I’m knitting too – I’m working on Olga’s lovely  Aranami Shawl using some lovely Yarn Pirate yarn, and I’m about to start the Through The Loops Mystery Shawl KALat the beginning of June. I’ve never done a mystery knitalong of any kind and two of my friends at work are doing it too – it should be fun! I can finish Aranami before June 1st, right? ha.So, everything’s pretty much the same around here. I’m working on a new dress now – Simplicity 1801 – and am venturing into the world of full bust adjustments – eek! We’ll see how it goes.

I don’t know if this post means I might start posting more often … or if I’m just feeling nostalgic for my blog and needed to post. either way, hi!

Oh, that first paragraph – that’s where I’ve been too. I’m glad you posted! Though I feel like I haven’t missed out on any of your crafts or your (not-so-)little guy, because I follow you on twitter. In fact, I hadn’t really even noticed that you hadn’t posted here in a while…

Welcome back! I was a lurker back when you used to post regularly…I’ve kept you on my Google Reader FOREVER, hoping you’d come back, and I’m so glad that you did! (Even if it’s just to check in!) I found you several years ago when I first got into knitting, and loved seeing your little family grow! Your son is adorable!

I feel the same way about my blog! I’m just taking a break…happens to be a long one but it’s just a break! I need to get back to posting again! I can’t believe you were on Wheel of Fortune!! How AWESOME!! Love the dresses and can’t wait to see more! Hope you keep posting!!!

I’m glad I inspired you to come back!

I do not understand people who can blog continuously for years with no breaks, putting multiple posts up every week. My life is just not that interesting.

    And Aranami? Awesome pattern.

Great to see you posting again. Your blog got me interested in knitting again when I discovered it years ago. It even inspired me to start my own blog.

I’ve missed your blogging! Can’t believe how big your son is! I’ve read you forever (lurking mostly) and have gotten into sewing too. (and I have two kids, girls, ages 5 and 3). Hope you blog more but if you don’t, that’s ok too…you do what you need to do.
    Take care!

It’s funny how I still consider myself a blogger, but I’ve really gotten WAAAAAAY out of the habit. And, as much as I never thought I’d stop knitting or sewing or painting or talking about nursing and babies… things have seasons. That “old life” popped into my head today and I started thinking of bloggers I used to follow and it was so sweet to see how people have moved on, grown families, and been more artistic and prolific in their crafts. Anyway, whenever that was that I was getting published in Knitty and trying all sorts of yarns and blogging about it, you were one of the bloggers I really enjoyed. Happy to see your cute little man! Some day, when I’m not living in India where the weather is routinely above 100, I’ll return to knitting. For now, the thought of wool between my fingers kinda puts my teeth on edge. Hahaha! Anyway, my new season is great too. Blessings!
